This is some typical projects demonstrating the activities of Systems Europe in the last years:
2008, Lebanon
Electric Power Master Plan for EDF (France) / EDL (Lebanon).
The objective of the project was to carry out
a power Master Plan covering the expansion of the generation and transmission system of Lebanon for the
next 15 years considering high reliability and quality standards.
2007, Yemen
Electric Power Master Plan for EDF (France) and PEC (Yemen).
As a subcontractor of EDF, the assignments of Systems-Europe
in this projects were to:
2007, Morocco
Creation of the software LAP for all types of low voltage electrification study: rural electrification projects with aerial
lines or urban studies with wall-mounted or underground lines.
2006, Cameroon
Implementation of a Geographical Information System (GIS) for management of all socio-technico-economic data
related to Rural Electrification Master Plan studies in Cameroun for the AER.
In this project, Systems-Europe was in charge of:
2006, France/Algeria
Providing DAP software to RTE (France) and Sonelgaz (Algeria).
The software was adapted to meet
particular requirements and practices of the clients. Systems Europe provided training to future users.
2005, Guinea
Master Plan and Rural Electrification for the Ministry of Hydrology and Energy of Guinea.
The master plan aims at an optimised planning of the generation and transmission system allowing for significant improvements of the countries
energy supply. The Rural Electrification project consists in technico-economic and financial feasibility studies, detailed project analysis
and call for tenders for the extension of the distribution network in some 30 local communities.
In the frame of this project that was carried out in cooperation with DECON (Germany), Systems-Europe was in charge of the
design, development and installation of an integrated software package (GIS + technical calculation modules) covering all
aspects of the study. Systems-Europe was also in charge of the training program related to the optimal use of this software,
and participated actively in the study of the Master Plan using the same set of software tools.
2004, Laos
Rural Electrification impact study, Socio-economic survey and establishment of a RE Database for the Ministry of Industry
and Handicraft of Laos.
The main objectives of this project are:
2003, Belgium
Phase Shifting Transformers study in the Belgian HV transmission network for ELIA.
The European liberalisation leads to increased energy exchanges between countries, due to significant price differences
amongst regions, especially between France and The Netherlands. As a consequence, the Belgian grid is now regularly
overloaded by non-nominated energy flows. Systems Europe has been assigned by ELIA to perform a complete study of the
impact of phase shifting transformers (PST) that could be installed at different locations of the Belgian grid.
Systems Europe's assignment was
2003, Uzbekistan
Future demand projections for tariff setting for UZBEKENERGO (Uzbekistan).
Systems-Europe was in charge of the task "Analysis of
current electricity consumption and future demand projections for tariff setting". First, data on past electricity
consumption and evolution of socio-economic parameters were collected and analysed. Sectorial consumption forecasts were
developed for the next 15 years using the DAP software. Then, using these forecasts, a generation expansion plan,
and corresponding generation costs were calculated using the GAP software.
2002, Senegal
Rural electrification plan for ASER (Senegal's Rural Electrification Agency).
The local rural electrification plan is
part of a comprehensive rural electrification program covering a territory including several rural communities.
The objective of the project is to collect and verify all basic data required to develop the terms of reference
for the call for tenders aiming at granting concessions in the frame of the Priority Rural Electrification Programmes (PPER).
The main tasks to be fulfilled are:
2001, Vietnam
Identification and reduction of losses in transmission and distribution networks and study of the economy of a pumping station for EVN
(Electricity of Vietnam).
This project aimed at identifying the level of losses in the transmission and distribution
networks in Vietnam, and at proposing the most effective measures to reduce this level of losses. In
addition, taking into account the 500 kV network, the interest of a pumping station was evaluated.
2000, France
Development of the ELVIRA software (Electrification de Villages
en Area Rural) for Electricité De France (EDF).
EDF has chosen Systems Europe for its experience accumulated during the partnership
between the two companies in the development of the LVPLAN
software, but also for its own rural electrification studies.
1999, France/Germany
Systems Europe is developing a "Technical Information System"
(TIS) mainly intended for the electric distribution utilities. This
R/D project carried out in partnership with EPS (France) and Netzinformationsystems,
SAG (Germany), received the European label EUREKA and the financial
support of the Belgian foreign Trade Ministry.
1998, Algeria
In co-operation with Lahmeyer Int'l and Europe Power Systems (EPS),
Systems Europe was selected by SONELGAZ as technical consultant
for the selection and installation of the Distribution Control Center
in Alger. The project consists in revision of the specifications,
assistance for tender documents preparation, bid evaluation and
supervision of installation and testing.
1997, Latin America
Technical assistance to OLADE for updating and modernising its Energy-
Economy Information System (SIEE), a comprehensive detailed Data
Base with Energy and Economy data of all countries of Latin America.
SIEE agents in each country are in charge of 3-monthly updates.
All member countries, as well as universities and energy organisations
have consulting access to SIEE. Project financed by the European
Community.
1996, Mexico
Study and implement of the concepts of "Business Units" in the Peninsular
Division of Comisión Federal de Electricidad (CFE) Mexico. This
ongoing two years project has been presented to the European Community
as part of its ALURE program, by CFE and three European Companies
including Systems Europe, Electricité de France and Cegedel.
1995, Mali/Ivory Coast
Analysis of financial interest of the interconnection between Mali
and Ivory Coast in terms of operation cost and reliability of the
interconnected system compared to the isolated systems. The second
point was the evaluation of the feasibility of the transmission
network. This study was achieved using the NAP
and the GAP programs of
Systems Europe.
1994, Syria
Consulting work for the European Community to identify, develop
the terms of reference and bid documents, and evaluate the bids
of the Electricity Support Program for Syria (ESSP), a 11 M €
program.
1993, Indonesia
Computerisation of the PLN rural electrification planning system
in Indonesia as subcontractor to EDF. Project financed by the World
Bank (WB).
1992, Mexico
Study and implementation of a distribution dispatching centre (SCADA)
and distribution management system (DMS) for the city of Merida,
Yucatan-Mexico (CADMER project). Project financed by the Commission
of European Communities.
